Standard Building Contract with Quantities for use in Scotland SBC/Q/SCOT (2016 Edition)

Description:

We carried out works over 4 floors while the full building was still a live environment for the office workers,
jewellery / watch makers and the general public. We had to work closely with the client in order for staff to be relocated
into other areas of the building while works were being carried out. In order for this to happen we had to
supply temporary feeds for I.T. Equipment and machinery.

The full works comprised:

• Structural Steel, bay Windows and Cupola installation
• Major Asbestos removal works
• Full new heating and ventilation system to all floors
• All new toilets formed including fitting of sanitary ware
• All new electrical works comprising of power, data, fire alarm, security and CCTV throughout
• All new Lead Roof Works on flat roofs and Slating to pitched roofs
• Joinery works comprising of partitions, structural partitions, ceilings, door kits, kitchens, floors and finishing’s
• Hardwood flooring and soft flooring including sheet vinyl – Ceramic & Porcelain tiling works
• Bespoke Lift installation
• Internal and external decoration including specialist marbling affect

Works were also carried out on the sales floor while the shop was still open to the general public. We had to complete works over split shifts in order for this to be maintained. The shift pattern was a slightly longer dayshift Back of House then into night shift on the Sales Floor, all back in order for the next day’s trading. When we had to remove the shopfront for installation of the new one, we had to build a high spec security hoarding with steel mesh incorporated and security fixings to keep the building secure, we also had a security guard manning the entrance along with the newly installed CCTV.
