Strathberry, Multrees Walk, Edinburgh

Description:

The project was the refurbishment of a vacant retail unit on Multrees Walk. The client, who supply luxury handbags and accessories, took on an empty shell and appointed SJS for the high specification fit-out. In addition to the trades involved in a typical refurbishment there was a particular emphasis on visually stunning and practical bespoke joinery items within the space.

The full works comprised:

  • Bespoke manufactured joinery units throughout the unit
  • Walls lined and new plasterboard ceiling installed to the front of house area
  • Minor alteration to existing services
  • Polished plaster will be applied to the curved walls and high level columns.
  • CCTV and intruder alarm relocated to suit the new curved walls and to comply with current regulation.
  • New downlights will be installed into the new plasterboard ceiling with LED lights installed within the bespoke
    manufactured joinery.
  • New tiled floor will be fitted to the shop floor throughout, leaving a timber border of hardwood flooring around the
    newly formed columns.
  • New signage and spray finish to shopfront

The project was delivered successfully on time and within budget, allowing the client to start trading as planned and the space looks stunning. The confined nature of the site was particularly challenging, in addition to the local restrictions for parking and deliveries however with meticulous planning we managed to ensure this did not have a negative impact on the project.
