Alan Timlin is responsible for the Commercial Management of SJS along with the Quantity Surveying and financial reporting of all contracts.

With a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying and over 20 years’ experience in Construction, principally in Main Contracting and Specialist Subcontracting, Alan has extensive knowledge of Interior Fit-out and Refurbishment with a wide range of Commercial and Operational experience in both major projects and smaller fit-out/Sub-contract joinery contracts.

Alan applies a proactive approach to financial matters and is an honest and authentic communicator who works efficiently with the design team and our supply chain to achieve a high quality commercial service to our clients.

Gary has over 20 years experience working in the world of Commercial Interiors with a wide range of clients in both the public and private sector.

He is extremely well connected in the property and business world with a solid understanding of sales, marketing and the commercial requirements of managing a profitable business.

Working with the other Directors, Gary is responsible for the strategic direction of business development, client relationship management and marketing.

Through many years of experience John has built up a holistic understanding across all aspects of the industry with particular experience in bespoke manufactured joinery, Interior Fitout and Refurbishment.

Heading up the SJS estimating team, John has responsibility for managing the complete estimating process, from initial enquiry and tender receipt through to final submission incorporating all tender deliverables and supporting bid documentation.

John is extremely thorough in the estimating process, implementing a logical and detailed approach to his work.  His attention to detail, desire to provide added value and commercial benefits to the tender offering  along with excellent communication skills ensures John  engenders an excellent rapport with clients.

Brian supports and develops our operational delivery in providing quality project service to ensure customer satisfaction. Brian is responsible for the management of Operational Activities, support of Contract Managers and management of a number of projects. Brian oversees all operational aspects of project delivery and site teams to deliver each project on programme, safely, and to exceptionally high standards.

A joiner by trade, Brian has twenty five years’ experience in the construction industry. Having held senior operational management positions with a number of prominent national contractors, Brian brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the SJS team across interior fit out, new build and management contracting.

Approachable, a good communicator with a customer focused approach, Brian creates an open environment, encourages teamwork and initiates ideas that enhance service, quality and customer experience. He leads with imagination and vision to help achieve service excellence and client satisfaction.

Darren has responsibility for the management of our bespoke manufacturing joinery operation.  Darren leads our team of CAD Design Technicians and experienced tradesmen providing a professional service throughout the process of design, machining, assembly and polishing to the final stage of supporting installation teams with site delivery.

Darren is well versed in guiding Lead Architects, Designers and Clients through the intricate processes of Manufactured Joinery production. He brings a wealth of Practical and technical experience to the role from his background as a joiner, quickly progressing from the tools to CAD design, developing his skills and design knowledge for more than 15 years.

With great technical knowledge and strong communication skills, Darren’s expertise, experience and customer-focused approach ensures SJS bespoke manufacturing provides service excellence for our clients.

Our CAD Design Technician team are the skilled bridge between a client brief and on-site production, transforming ideas or concept sketches through detailed design development into the complex technical manufacturing drawings required to achieve the high specification bespoke products that we produce.

Liaising with clients and design teams and providing technical guidance on design, materials and integration with surroundings, the CAD Technicians remain closely involved with the process through to completion supporting the production and site installation teams to ensure success and accurate build.

A joiner by trade, with over 34 years in the industry, Michael has a wealth of experience in bespoke manufactured joinery and has developed a reputation as a highly skilled and professional CAD Design Technician for over 20 years.  His knowledge, eye for detail and passion for producing the highest quality design warrants Michael great respect from clients, Design Teams and his peers.

With over 20 years’ experience as a CAD Technician in the interior fit-out industry, Kevin has a keen eye for detail and has gained a vast knowledge of manufactured joinery. He has an approachable and friendly manner with strong communication and organisational skills.

With over 30 years experience in bespoke manufactured joinery, Gordon has progressed his career from apprentice bench hand joiner to his current role as Workshop Supervisor assuming responsibility for the day to day running of our production facility.

Supervising our highly skilled team of machine men, bench hand joiners and French polishers, Gordon’s technical expertise, perfectionism and man management skills create real camaraderie and an excellent working environment which is a key success in producing the highest quality manufacturing products we provide for our clients.

Working in the commercial team Neil provides quantity surveying services to our project delivery. With a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and 8 years experience in a variety of surveying and commercial roles for both PQS and contracting (main and sub-contract disciplines) Neil brings a professional and disciplined approach to the commercial team at SJS.

Neil’s strong communication skills and desire to provide service beyond expectation make him a valuable member of the team.

Paul supports John in our Estimating Department. With over 12 years of experience in a variety of commercial and estimating roles within the construction industry, a BSc (Hons) in Physics and a BSc (hons) in Quantity Surveying, Paul brings a professional, efficient, and highly analytical approach to the Estimating team at SJS.

Paul offers a strategic and highly efficient approach to financial matters with an open, honest, and clear line of communication for clients, project teams and our supply chain to achieve a high quality and accurate Estimating service.

Ally our Contract Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the contracts which includes; ensuring all health and safety compliance criteria is met, delivering high quality work required by the client, guaranteeing programme timescales are adhered to and the management of sub-contractors and direct labour force on a daily basis.

Ally is an effective communicator with faultless interpersonal skills and has a wide range of experience of all aspects of the construction process. His proven management skills and diligent adherence to process and procedures enables him to successfully deliver projects on time and on budget. He develops and maintains excellent relationships with clients and the professional team, whilst guaranteeing effective coordination of all trades and contractors to facilitate the smooth running of a project.

A joiner by trade, Daniel Turner is one of our valued Contract Managers here at SJS. Having over 23 years’ experience in the construction industry, Daniel compliments the team with his extensive knowledge in refurbishment/ fit-out, sub-contracting and the MoD Sector. As a Contract Manager, Daniel oversees various sites and will report directly to the Operations Director. He will liaise with the Design Team and site team as required with regard to the day to day running of the site and be responsible for ensuring the quality of work, programme management and all aspects of health and safety performance including subcontractors and Client Direct Sub-Contractors/Suppliers.

Daniel’s commitment and passion for successful project delivery and quality along with his focused approach on providing client satisfaction has successfully enabled him to deliver numerous projects to the highest standard.

With over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry Murray has extensive understanding in fast-track refurbishments and fit outs having delivered successful projects across the country. As a contracts manager Murray will manage the day-to-day site activities of the contracts and have overall responsibility for project delivery by managing quality, health & safety, and programme compliance all in accordance with the contractual requirements.

Murray’s professionalism and motivation at work with his excellent communication and interpersonal skills towards clients is invaluable to the SJS team.
