Kyle Singh – Work Placement

Kyle Singh joins SJS this week on work placement in our bespoke manufactured joinery facility. Kyle is currently a pupil at Portobello High School, we hope this opportunity will give him an exciting insight into the wonderful world of joinery. Good luck Kyle!

Vita Student Edinburgh, Bespoke Manufactured Joinery

How great does the new accommodation at Vita Student Edinburgh look? We recently manufactured and designed bespoke joinery for their communal hub space including charred timber wall cladding, kitchen units with matching table and all-important gaming stations. We are delighted to have produced these for main contractor Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd and hope the students love their new surroundings as much as we do.

Shower Room Refurbishment, SRU Murrayfield

Congratulations to the Scotland Rugby team on their phenomenal win this weekend against Fiji in the first of the Autumn Tests. We are sure their fantastic performance on the pitch was further enhanced post match in their newly refurbished shower facilities.

Quality facilities for a quality team and a very positive transformation successfully delivered by SJS for the Scottish Rugby Union at BT Murrayfield in partnership with Axiom Project ServicesHolmes Millerand RSP Consulting Engineers LLP

Residential Refurbishment, Thistle Street Lane

The refurbishment of 45A George Street, South Thistle Street Lane is our latest successfully completed project. Located in Edinburgh’s city centre the 40-week project converted a 6-storey office block into 11 luxury-serviced apartments. Structural alterations took place to create new entrance-ways and to remove a connecting Link Bridge to the rear of the property. Refurbishment works included the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, along with new carpets and oak flooring throughout. The apartments were each fitted with bespoke wardrobes, produced in the SJS manufacturing facility.

This project was proudly completed in partnership with James Robertson Architecture and Axiom

Scholarship Award for Paul

Well done to our Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Paul Brown, who excelled in his last academic year and has been nominated for a Scholarship Award from the Scottish Builders Employers Federation. Paul is currently working towards a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying at Napier University and has so far achieved merit grades across every completed module. Congratulations from everyone at SJS!

Completed Project, Murrayfield Stadium

Great site visit to another successfully completed project, after which Beckie and our Site Manager Leigh had a sneaky look around! We can’t wait to share the images of it, but in the meantime, why don’t you ‘try’ and guess where it is.
